My artistic practice is rooted in the intersections of identity, culture, and ritual, shaped by my Sardinian and Dutch heritage. Through painting, performance, and storytelling, I explore how ancient customs, particularly rituals of mourning and transformation, can be reimagined for our contemporary world. I weave together elements from the past—like the laments of my Sardinian ancestors—with modern forms of expression, creating a dialogue between tradition and innovation. This process allows me to explore themes of grief, healing, and cultural hybridity, not as static concepts, but as evolving, living practices.
My work is driven by a desire to reclaim forgotten or overlooked rituals, giving them new relevance in a world often disconnected from its roots. I am fascinated by the spaces where memory, imagination, and ritual converge—where loss can transform into something meaningful and where cultural identity is fluid, constantly reshaped by our experiences. By engaging with these tensions, I aim to create art that invites reflection, challenges cultural erasure, and fosters a deeper sense of community and belonging across boundaries.
